Brazzaville, Congo – The World Customs Organization (WCO) has opened a regional training centre (CRF) in Congo Brazzaville, aimed at strengthening capacities for customs administrations and the West and central Africa’s regional integration, local sources told PANA. The centre, which is the second of its kind in Africa after the centre opened in 2006 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, has the objective to conceive and offer appropriate trainings in a bid to support the strengthening of the capacities for customs administrations, with regard to the priority lines set in the sub-region.
The Brazzaville centre will work in close collaboration with the regional office for the strengthening of capacities in West and central Africa, based in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire.
WCO goals will not be attained unless those in charge of implementing the missions related to them are trained, and the opening of CRF in Brazzaville is aimed at achieving these objectives, the sources said.
