Japan donates 4 billion FCFA for Benin teacher training college - Japan has granted Benin 4 billion FCFA to support a teacher training college in the northwest of the West African state, official sources said in Cotonou in Wednesday.

The project would involve the construcion of structures and supply of equipment.

The financing of the project, which aims at contributing to the training of teachers and improving the quality of education, is under grant arrangements of the Japanese government.

The project provides for the construction of four pedagogical units with a library, a computer room, an infirmary, an administrative block, a restaurant, dormitories, sanitation facilities and accessories.

The project ends the fourth phase of the construction of primary schools as part of the Japanese grant scheme.

Japan has already built , as part of this programme, 185 schools with 765 class modules. Three other class modules are being completed.
