Security-Tanzania - Police in Dar es Salaam are hunting for Lameck Nyambaya, who once contested for various posts at the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) and Young Africans, allegedly for fraud. Nyambaya, who contested for TFF Executive Committee member post during the 2008 elections and stood for the same post during last year's Yanga elections, is reportedly to have illegally obtained 9m/- by fraudulent means after impersonating as an employee of a Dar es Salaam Clearing and Forwarding firm-Juliana Limited to con a Jamaican citizen-- Patrick Mckenzie. Ilala Senior Superintendent of Police Duwani Nyanda confirmed to the 'Daily News' on Thursday that police are searching Nyambaya for the charges.
Nyanda further said that Nyambaya is charged with being involved in a group alleged to have falsified documents used to defraud Mckenzie.
He said Nyambaya and the said company - Juliana Limited, are alleged to have defrauded a total of 17m/- from Mckenzie, in which Nyambaya took 9m/-.
When reached for comments, Nyambaya admitted that he knows Mckenzie, but vehemently refuted allegations that he defrauded the Jamaican.
'That is pure lie. He gave the task to the company and not me. In fact I'm sure that his car has already been cleared from the port I don't know why he keeps on pointing fingers at me and not the company that he entered contract with,' he said
