Abuja, Nigeria - Nigeria's apex court affirms Jonathan's election - Nigeria's apex Supreme Court Wednesday in the capital city of Abuja affirmed the victory of President Goodluck Jonathan and his deputy, Namadi Sambo, in April's general election.

The court held that the opposition Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), which challenged the victory, failed to discharge the burden of proof.

The results of the election triggered a massive riot in northern Nigeria that left dozens dead and property worth millions of naira destroyed.
