Beach soccer - Senegal's President Abdoulaye Wade has congratulated the country's national beach soccer team for winning the African beach soccer championship. Senegal beat Nigeria 7-4 Sunday to win the African title in Casablanca, Morocco. 'On behalf of the entire nation, I would like to express our joy and our pride in this remarkable performance, a symbol of talent and unwavering determination that have marked your exceptional  performance throughout the competition,' the Senegalese President said in a letter to the team, a copy of which was obtained by PANA here Monday evening.

Senegal and Nigeria will represent Africa at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Italy in September.
