Port Louis, Mauritius - Religious and charity organisations in Mauritius have formed a common front to wage a battle against the legalization of abortion in the country, according to Raffick Santally, chair of the Islamic Youth Federation.
'We want to tell the government that the current law making illegal any act of abortion on a woman is correct and should not change,' Santally said here Thursday.
On his part, the vicar-general of the Diocese of Port-Louis, Jean Maurice Labour, condemned 'those who are for the recognition of women’s right to abortion.'
'I wonder if a woman has the right to wipe out the right of another human being who is weaker,' he queried.
