Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, arrived Wednesday in Kigali for a four-day state visit to Rwanda that is designed to enhance cooperation between the two countries, official sources said here.
Museveni's visit followed a two-day preparatory meeting of the foreign ministers of both countries, according to a statement issued by the Rwanda Presidency.
Rwanda and Uganda have maintained successful relationships in many areas such as trade and agriculture.
During this visit, President Museveni and his Rwandan counterpart, Paul Kagame, will join the local population on 30 July for the Community Works, known as "Umuganda", the statement indicated.
Rwanda and Uganda, both members of the East African Economic Community, also want to strengthen ties in education.
Reports say they are planning to recruit more teachers from English-speaking countries of East Africa to teach courses in English.
