Nigeria - Ohinoyi warns against pipeline vandalism in Ebira land - The Ohinoyi of Ebirra land, Dr. Ado Ibrahim has warned his subjects against vandalizing the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) pipeline in his domain.
Addressing his subject during Okene/Oghori-Magongo town hall meeting in Okene at weekend organized by Honourable Yusuf Tijani Ahmed representing Okene/Oghori-Magongo Federal Constituency, the royal father said NNPC is complaining bitterly about the development.
He said the issue was giving him serious concern, saying that President Goodluck Jonathan was also not happy with the development. Ohinoyi advises the people of Ebirra land to do away with it because of the hazardous nature of bunkering to the people and the economy of the country.
The traditional ruler stressed that the relative peace witnessed in Ebira land must be sustained, calling on parents to always check their wards so that the land should continue to embrace peace and unity for development to strive in the land.
Ohinoyi noted that the use of clannish sentiment as sources of disintegration can only set the land backward as he enjoined parents to give moral training and education to their children to sustain their future. He also charged the electorate to give adequate support to their leaders while calling on representative to adequately represent the people. On his part, Hon. Yusuf Ahmed Tijani said the town meeting was his own little way of contributing towards sustaining peace in the area and promised to attract development in the area.
