Swedish journos Ethiopia - The European Union (EU) has called on Ethiopia to release 'as soon as possible' the Swedish journalists who were recently jailed following their conviction for terrorism and illegal entry into the African nation.

In a statement issued here, the EU expressed concern about the conditions under which the journalists, Martin Schibbye and Johan Persson, were being held.

The journalists were in Ethiopia in their professional capacity before their arrest.
