Nigeria advances in FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup qualifier - Nigeria has advanced to the next qualifying stage of the 2012 FIFA Under-17 Women's World Cup on a 5-0 aggregate, after beating Kenya 3-0 in their return leg match in Nigeria's South-west city of Abeokuta at the weekend.
The Flamingoes, as the Nigerian team is known, won the first leg away in Kenya 2-0.
12 African teams are featuring in the first round of the qualifiers - Botswana, Cameroon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tunisia and Zambia.
The six teams that progress to the second round will engage in home and away matches 9-25 March, with the three aggregate winners qualifying to represent Africa at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Azerbaijan 22 Sept-13 Oct.
Nigeria and Ghana represented Africa in the 2010 edition of the two-yearly tournament.
