Nigeria Rwanda - Nigeria's President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, on a two-day official visit to Kigali, Thursday announced that a Nigerian embassy in Rwanda would soon be opened. Nigeria hopes for a 'fruitful cooperation' with Rwanda in the health, trade, information and communication technology sectors, Jonathan said at a joint press conference with his Rwandan counterpart, Paul Kagame.

Jonathan said his visit to Rwanda was to strengthen the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Sources in Kigali said that during the visit, several cooperation and partnership agreements between the two countries were signed.

Rwanda opened its embassy in Abuja, the Nigerian capital, since 2009.
