In addition to the trophy, the Teranga Lions received the top prize of five million CFA francs, while the Nigeriens got three million CFA francs. Guinea Bissau won the fair-play trophy.
Cote d'Ivoire won the first two editions of the competition.
The tournament, reserved for players in the local league of the eight WAEMU member countries, is aimed at strengthening sub-regional integration.
Established 10 January 1994 in Dakar, the WAEMU comprises Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo.
