Regional bourse slides further

Bourse - The Regional Bourse for the French West Africa (BRVM) closed its fixing session here on Wednesday slightly lower than it did the previous day.

The BRVM composite index lost 0.94 per cent, dropping from 131.10 to 129.87 points, while the BRVM 10 index closed at 142.03 points down 1.20 per cent.

The value of the transactions was 125.76 million CFA francs, compared to the 96.25 million CFA francs reported last session.

Trading involved 12 of the 38 companies listed on the stock exchange, as the number of securities traded climbed to 34,038.

Seventeen of the 20 accredited brokerage firms, including nine from outside Cote d'Ivoire, took part in the market.

Stock market capitalization was 2,755,061,866,340 CFA francs and that for the bond market rose to 513,404,382,250 CFA francs.
