Regional bourse rises

Bourse - The Regional Bourse for the French West Africa (BRVM) closed its fixing session here on Thursday slightly higher than it did Wednesday.

The BRVM Composite index rose to 0.04 per cent, climbing from 131.16 to 131.21 points, as the BRVM 10 index closed at 143.88 points up 0.04 per cent.

The value of the transactions was 765,47 million CFA francs, compared to the 54.53 million CFA francs reported last session.

Trading involved 11 of the 38 companies listed on the stock exchange, while the number of securities traded climbed to 217,959.

Seventeen of the 20 accredited brokerage firms, including nine from outside Cote d'Ivoire, took part in the market.

Stock market capitalization was 2,783,322,043,380 CFA francs and that for the bond market rose to 510,632,656,930 CFA francs.

On the bond market, 73,269 bonds were traded for a total value of 728.60 million CFA francs, not counting accrued coupons.
