Regional bourse resumes week on happy note

The Regional Bourse for the French West Africa (BRVM) closed trading here on Monday slightly higher than it closed last week.

The BRVM composite index rose to 0.02 per cent, climbing from 130.53 to 130.55 points, while the BRVM 10 index closed at 143.02 points up 0.02 per cent.

The value of the transactions was 12.12 million CFA francs, compared to the 163.50 million CFA francs reported last session.

Trading involved 13 of the 38 companies listed on the stock exchange, as the number of securities traded climbed to 9,633.

Sixteen of the 20 accredited brokerage firms, including eight from outside Cote d'Ivoire, took part in the market.

Stock market capitalization was 2,769,314,807,215 CFA francs and that for the bond market rose to 512,394,779,470 CFA francs.

On the bond market, 202 bonds were traded for a total value of 1.98 million CFA francs, not counting accrued coupons.
