Brussels, Belgium - The European Investment Bank (EIB) has signed an agreement with Mauritius Leasing Company Limited for a loan of 5 million euros to finance projects implemented by small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) in Mauritius, official sources said on Thursday.

In a communiqué released in Brussels, the EIB said these credits would be given out by the Mauritius Leasing Company Limited, in the form of credits and lease to SMEs.

According to the communiqué, these credits would help meet the financing requirements of medium-term assets of Mauritian SMEs in the manufacturing industry and in export-led sectors, in harmony with the country's development strategy.
