Ivorian politicians, the international community and the Ivorian people, who directly bear the brunt of the seven-year political crisis in the country, expect much fr om the meeting.
The Presidential elections, which are expected to mark the end of the crisis, have been postponed many times, the latest being this month.
The last date proposed by the Ouagadougou agreement was 29 November, but the elections were again postponed over delays in the identification and data processing, which in turn delayed the publication of the provisional electoral register.
Ivorians who did not register have been given 30 days to make their complaints since Tuesday.
After that, the electoral register will be published and identity cards made and distributed to the citizens in readiness for the elections.
Cote d'Ivoire, once an oasis of peace in the turbulence-prone West African sub-region, was thrown into crisis in 2002, when a failed coup led to the division of the country, with the south remaining under government control and the north falling into rebel hands.
