Nokia Siemens Software - Bharti Airtel Africa has contracted Nokia Siemens Networks to upgrade its mobile internet and multi-media messaging services in Africa. Under a three-year contract, the operator will use Nokia Siemens Serve at Once Device Management (SADM) software in the 16 African countries. This will enable it consolidate its mobile internet browsing solution (MIBS) and multimedia messaging solution (MMSC) on a virtualized platform which In turn will translate to faster services to its customers and cost efficiency.
" The shift towards smart networks that understand user preferences and enable delivery of customized services is helping operators such as Bharti Airtel deliver a superior Mobile Broadband experience,"said Rajeev Suri, chief Executive Officer of Nokia Siemens Networks.
The software will also enable the telecom firm to remotely and automatically manage and configure user devices for new data services. Bharti Airtel has been using this mobile device management approach in India.
