Rural Electrification: Kano government embarks on rural electrification

Rural Electrification - Kano state government has approved N93, 181, 117.00 to the state ministry of rural electrification for the first phase of rehabilitation and restoration of works on vandalized power lines and other electricity accessories in some parts of the state.

The state commissioner for Information, Internal Affairs, Youth, Sports and Culture Dr. Umar Farouk Jibril who stated this to newsmen, said the project will cover areas of Dakatsalle-Kariya, Kwanar Dangora-Falgore, Yargaya-Kwanar Garko, Albasu-Kwanar Yan Daddawa-Jalli- Madaci and Jigawar Santame-Ganduje.

He explained that the electrification project is aimed at restoring electricity supply from the national grid to the affected areas. Similarly, N20, 000, 000 was approved for purchase and repairs of some operational vehicles, spare parts and lubrications.

Dr. Jibril said government has approved another sum of N40, 486, 490.56 to the state ministry of water resources for the construction of generator house at Tamburawa Water Treatment plant to revive the state owned Water Resource Engineering and Construction Authority (WRECA).
