Mauritania political movement lauds new government

Mauritania's African Liberation Forces (FLAM) has lauded the new government saying it has noted several positive actions after 100 days by President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz.

In a declaration made on Monday afternoon, the Movement noted the continuation of the repatriation programme for black Mauritanians deported to Senegal and the tentative solution to the case of deported teachers. The repatriation started under the tenure of Sidi Mohamed Ould Cheikh Abdallahi.

It has also noted with satisfaction efforts to put morality at the centre of the country's political, administrative and economic management as some of the many actions which must not only be maintained and deepened.

FLAM called for a quick solution to the issue of confiscated lands in the Senegal River Valley, and expressed reservations about extra-judicial executions of several hundred Black soldiers in 1990-1991.
