In the event, featuring three players a side, Madagascar beat host country Tunisia 13-2 here on Sunday.
To reach the finals, Tunisia defeated Senegal 13-5 while Madagascar beat Algeria 13-7.
Participants in the 19-22 November championship came from 15 countries -- Algeria, Benin, Cameroon, Cote-d'Ivoire, Djibouti, Guinea, Libya, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Mauritius, Mauritania, the Seychelles, Senegal and host Tunisia which presented two teams.
The top 10 countries from the Tunis event -- Madacascar, Tunisia, Senegal, Algeria, Mauritania, Morocco, Mali, Guinea, Côte-d'Ivoire and Benin -- will take part in next World Pétanque championships, slated for Taiwan in 2010.
Abdessamad El Menkari of Morocco won the pinpoint firing title, Kadir Sayyed Abdallah was second, while Sangaré Nouhoun of Mali and Boubabcar Traore of Mauritania tied in third place.
The next African Petanque/Bowling Championship will be held in 2010 in Cameroon.
