Libya: 200 students attend University Leaders' Forum in Tripoli

Some 200 students from 50 African universities are atten ding the African University Leaders' Forum, which began Friday in Tripoli, the Libyan capital, PANA reported from here.

The students will discuss, among others, negative aspects of democratic practice from the liberal perspective, post-colonial Africa and obstacles to the creation of the United States of Africa.

During the forum, which will end 20 March, participants will also discuss issues such as African identity crisis, the African social system and direct democracy as a model of the African continent.

Popular socialism as African model, the role of revolutionary committees in building the United States of Africa, the foundation mechanisms of the movement of African masses, with students as mainstay, are among the other topics for discussion.

The meeting brings together students from the Central African Republic, Senegal, the Gambia, Chad, Sierra Leone, Benin, Cameroon, South Africa, Djibouti, Kenya, Namibia, Madagascar, Lesotho, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Ghana, Botswana, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Uganda and Libya.

The forum is organized by the General Libyan students Union and the Nasser University, under the supervision of the Revolutionary Committee Liaison Office.
