Cotonou, Benin - The 487 young entrepreneurs, indebted to the Beninese National Fund for the Promotion of Youth Employment and the Enterprise (FNPEEJ), have been given an eight-day ultimatum to refund monies advanced to them to make them self employed,
According to an ultimatum issued Monday by the ministry in charge of microfinance, youth employment and women, 'Once the deadline expires, the ministry and FNPEEJ will take legal means to recover the loans.'
FNPEEJ was established in 2007 under the government's youth employment policy.
The 487 persons account for 81.16 per cent of the 600 beneficiaries from the fund which was set up with an initial amount of 5 billion FCFA.
