Joint Cameroon-Central African Republic Commission to meet this week-end

The first meeting of the joint cooperation commission of Cameroon and the Central African Republic will meet this weekend in Bertoua, eastern Cameroon, official sources said on Thursday in Douala.

'This first meeting is going to help put the right strategies for the free movement of people and goods between the two countries," the Cameroonian minister of Administration and Decentralization, Marafa Hamidou Yaya, said.

Cameroon and the Central African Republic share a long land border.

Over the past few years, relations between the two countries has deteriorated because of the presence of Central African and Chadian rebels in northern Cameroon.
