She also visited the "Heal Africa" private hospital that deals with victims of sexual violence.
In Kinshasa, Mrs Clinton reassured Congolese officials, during a dinner organised in her honour of the US Administration's commitment to form a "solid partnership" with the DRC.
She, however, called on Congolese leaders to do all they can to put an end to corruption, bad governance, impunity, human rights violations, namely sexual violence on women and the girl child.
In Kinshasa, Hillary Clinton shortly after her arrival on Monday in DRC, met with 140 students of the University of Kinshasa (UNIKIN) and visited "Biamba Marie Mutombo" hospital which was built thanks to the funding of Congolese basketball player in the United States, Mutombo Dikembe.
During her meeting with students of UNIKIN, the US Secretary of State reiterated her country's support in building hope in DRC.
She called on the Congolese to make good choices and to contribute to the advancement of their nation, even through suggestions.
"The United States as a partner is interested in participating in the building of hope in DRC and in writing this new page of history with the Congolese people," she said.
In a news briefing, the Archbishop of Kinshasa, Monsignor Laurent Monsengwo Pasinya, said "the visit of Hilary Clinton will help strengthen relations between Kinshasa and Washington and to touch on substantive issues such as democracy, human rights, good governance and partnership between the United States and Africa".
Hillary Clinton arrived in DRC as part of an African tour which started in Kenya, through Botswana, South Africa, Angola, and which will subsequently take her to Nigeria, Liberia and Cape Verde.
