She is currently attending the 8th US-Sub-Saharan Africa Trade and Economic Cooperation Forum in Nairobi, Kenya.
During the South African leg of her trip, she will meet with International Relations Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane and former President Nelson Mandela.
International Relations and Cooperation Director-General Ayanda Ntsaluba said South Africa would use the visit to encourage new solutions to old challenges, and discuss harnessing the power of innovation and technology to pro vide a foundation for human development and sustainable economic growth.
Political issues in Sudan, the Middle East and Palestine will also be addressed.
Clinton is expected to highlight President Barack Obama's commitment to making Africa a priority in US foreign policy.
In addition, she will underline America's commitment to partner with governments, the private sector, non-governmental organisations and private citizens to build societies where each individual can realise his or her potential.
Apart from Kenya and South Africa, Clinton is also billed to travel to Angola, DR Congo, Liberia, Nigeria and Cape Verde.
