According to SA' Department of Foreign Affairs, the Ministers will be accompanied by South African Ambassador to Sudan, Manelisi Genge, as well as other senior government officials.
The two ministers are in the Sudan for a three-day official visit, which is aimed at strengthening relations between South Africa and the Sudan, within the context of the promotion of the Consolidation of the African Agenda as well as ensuring that there is lasting peace in the Sudan.
South Africa also chairs the African Union Ministerial Committee on Post Conflict Reconstruction and Development of the Sudan.
The challenges facing the implementation of the Sudanese Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) as well as 2010 Elections will receive attention in the discussions in Khartoum.
While in Khartoum, the Ministers are expected to meet with a number of government Ministers such as Eltijani Salih Elfeail, Minister of International Cooperation as well as Minister in the Presidency, Bakri Hassan Salih, and other senior officials.
On Wednesday, Mashabane and Chabane will depart Khartoum for Juba, where they will interact with their Southern Sudanese counterparts, including paying a courtesy call on Lt.-Gen. Salva Kirr Mayardit, the President of the Government of Southern Sudan and First Vice President of Sudan.
While in Juba, the Ministers are also expected to meet with Pagan Amum, Secretary General of the Sudanese People's Liberation Movement, and Dr. Ann Ito, Secretary - General of the Sudanese People's Liberation Movement (Southern Sector).
