Guinea: Late president's son jailed for drug trafficking in Guinea

El Hadj Moussa Conté, the younger son of the late Guinean president, Lansana Conté, has been jailed in Conakry, over drug trafficking, judicial sources told PANA on Friday.

Moussa had been in detention for some months at the Mobile Intervention Pavilion (PM3), of the national gendarmerie.

Arrested for drug trafficking, Moussa joined his elder brother, Ousmane Conté, and several other police and army officers detained for the same offence. The trial of the drug traffickers, initially scheduled for last 4 June, was post poned due to "power shortages".

The new military junta, in power since 23 December, 2008, has clamped several pe ople in jail in Conakry for cocaine trafficking.
