Gaddafi, Emir of Qatar consult over 21st Arab summit

Tripoli, Libya - Libyan leader Mouammar Gaddafi, who holds the rotational chairmanship of the African Union (AU), and the Emir of Qatar, Cheikh Hamad ben Khalifa Al-Thani, Monday held phone consultations on the forthcoming Arab summit to be held in Doha, the Qatari capital.

Apart from discussions on the summit, scheduled for 30-31 March, the two leaders also discussed the summit for Arab and South American countries, also expected to hold in Doha.

The Libyan leader had earlier received an invitation from the Emir of Qatar to take part in the 21st Arab summit as well as the summit of the Arab and the South American countries.

Earlier on Sunday, the AU chairman had held phone discussions with President Hosni Mubarak of Egyptian president as part of regular consultations between them.
