Football: Mali and Cote d'Ivoire draw 1-1

Football - The national football teams of Mali and Cote d'Ivoire drew 1-1 on Monday afternoon in Cotonou, Benin, in the second round of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) tournament.

Mali opened the score at the 26th minute but the Ivorians equalised from a penalty kick at the 75th minute.

In an opening match on Sunday, Togo beat Benin by 1-0 whereas Niger outclassed Guinea Bissau 3-0.

These countries have a common currency, the CFA franc, issued by the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) whose headquarters is in Dakar, Senegal's capital city.
