In a communique, made available to newsmen, EU offered its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, as well as its deep sadness over these events which have left dozens of people dead and wounded.
In the communique, EU called for the "immediate" release of all arrested politicians, while also calling on all parties for "calm and restraint".
The EU demanded that those responsible for the criminal acts be brought to justice.
It further noted that all parties involved in the transition process, especially the National Committee for Democracy and Development (CNDD), should urgently work together for the return to dialogue.
EU stressed that "it is only through consensual elections and without the participation of members of CNDD, in accordance with commitments made with the international community, particularly during political consultations with the European Union, in June, that Guinea will return to the way of civil peace, democracy and development".
