Intellectual Property Office - The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Yola (FUTY), Professor Bashir Haruna Usman, has commended the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) for establishing Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Offices (IPTTOs) in research institutes and universities in the country.

He was speaking during the formal commissioning ceremony of the IPTTO of the Federal University of Technology Yola (FUTY) recently.

According to him, the establishment of IPTTO in the university could not have come at a better time than now considering the global emphasis placed on science and technology through innovations, research and technology transfer.

He said the institution would help its staff excel in their fields of endeavour, thus improving its rating in the field of science and technology, adding that the products of scientific research and innovations carried out by staff in the six schools of the university would be showcased through NOTAP for commercialization.
