In a communiqué issued in Abidjan, CSCI asked the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) to allow "the population be involved in the quest for solutions to contentious cases", considering that this was going to alleviate and simplify the work of technical actors and that of the IEC.
According to CSCI, if these contentious cases persist, they could have repercussions on the posting of the provisional voters' rolls, litigation management, the distribution of voters' cards and jeopardise the initial date of the first round of the presidential election.
