According to the source, 5,000 delegates, among them Africans, will participate in the three-day celebrations which will be marked by debates, workshops and other activities focusing on development and climate change, the main theme of the gathering.
In a statement in Brussels, the European Commission said three African heads of state - Blaise Compaoré of Burkina Faso, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf of Liberia and Ernest Koroma of Sierra Leone - had confirmed they would attend the fourth edition of the celebrations.
Jean Ping, Chairman of the AU Commission, will also attend the forum which is held every year by the European Union, the source said.
