Angola police detain 58 illegal immigrants

Angolan police have arrested 58 illegal immigrants from several African countries in northern Bengo province for illegally attempting to enter Luanda province.

According to the provincial commander of the Police in Bengo, Ernesto Manuel Encoje, the illegal immigrants, who have been placed in custody by the National Migration and Foreigners Services (SME), were arrested at the beaches in Cambala.

He said 28 of the illegal immigrants were from Guinea Conakry whilst the rest were from DR Congo, Gambia, Mali, Senegal, Cote d'Ivoire, Sierra Leone, Guinea Bissau and Congo Brazzaville.
