Egypt football Cup: ENPPI stuns Zamalek, wins Egypt football Cup

ENPPI stuns Zamalek-Egypt football Cup - ENPPI stunned giants Zamalek to lift the Egyptian football Cup after a 2-1 win at  Cairo International Stadium Tuesday. After a scoreless first half, Zamalek got first on the score sheet via Amr Zaky early in the second half.

Adel Mostafa drew level for ENPPI from the penalty spot a few minutes later before ENPPI captain Ahmad Abdel-Thaher scored the winner for the petroleum engineering company nine minutes before the final whistle.

The outcome stunned more than 70,000 Zamalek fans who filled the Cairo Stadium and millions of Zamalek supporters across the country who were looking for the club's first title in three years, and 22nd Cup title overall.

Ironically, this is the first time Zamalek coach Hassan Shehata, who had led Egypt to winning three African Cup of Nations titles in a row, has lost a championship game.

With the win, underdogs ENPPI, coached by Mokhtar Mokhtar, got their revenge for the 2008 Cup final loss to Zamalek.

For ENPPI,  who were conquerors of league winners Ahly in the round of 16, this is their second Cup title.
