2014 WC qualifier: Ghana trains in South Africa for Lesotho match. Ghana senior national football team has started preparations for its away 2014 World Cup qualifying match against Lesotho this weekend, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced on Monday.
GFA said on its website that the Black Stars had trained twice since arriving in South Africa last Saturday to prepare for the match. Ghana beat Sudan away 3-1 last Friday in their group D match and flew to Johannesburg the same night.
Kwesi Appiah and his 24-member squad upon arrival 'did recovery training on Saturday night while those who played on Friday were rested from Sunday's light training session'.
GFA said the Black Stars would continue training in Johannesburg until the team departs for neighbouring Lesotho on Thursday.
In the group, Ghana has nine points and is second to Zambia, which has 10 points.
