Spain to offer training and technical assistance to Angola

Training and technical assistance - Spain is to offer training and technical assistance to Angola on internal security issues under a cooperation plan signed on Wednesday in the Spanish capital, Madrid, official sources said in Luanda.

The cooperation plan, signed by the ministers in charge of interior and security from Angola and Spain, Ângelo Tavares and Jorge Fernández respectively, includes particularly the sectors of police, immigration, civil protection, border and the fight against illegal immigration.

The training and technical assistance programmes will be completed by other internships and supply of border surveillance equipment, says the Angolan news agency (Angop), which stressed that the two countries had cooperated in the building of schools and the drafting of rehabilitation and social assistance policies.

The Angolan Interior minister, who wraps up a four-day visit to Spain on Thursday, is expected a visit to the security and emergency integrated centre in Madrid, installations of the fire service and mobile commando centre.
