Road projects in Rwanda - Rwanda will receive US$60.9 million from the World Bank to enable the African country repair its road networks with a view to enhancing the capacity of small farmers who are facing high costs in moving their products to markets, PANA learnt Monday from official sources in Kigali.

The sources said the money had just been approved by the World Bank administration Council and comes within the scope of a strategy to reduce poverty and further stimulate the economy through the elimination of the gap between the rich and the poor.

According to a World Bank communique in the Rwandan capital, US$45 million of the money will be granted in the form of a loan.

The projects include the 270-kilometre of road between the districts of Karongi (West), Rwamagana (East), Gisagara (South) and Nyamasheke (South-West).
