Rabat, Morocco - The King of Morocco, Mohamed VI, Monday in Casablanca expressed his commitment to continue the reforms in the country, the Moroccan news agency, MAP, reported Monday. Speaking during the establishment of the economic and social council, the King said he would consolidate the gains of the kingdom through the reforms.

The King said his goal was to ensure 'worthy living conditions' for all Moroccans, particularly the underprivileged, and to create jobs for the youth.

Demonstrators in Morocco have, for several days, been demanding the King's resignation as well as the need for deep socio-political reforms.
