Rabat, Morocco - Moroccan King Mohammed VI has named Khalil Hachimi Idrissi, the new Director-General of the Moroccan news agency, Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP), 10 months after the former CEO, Ali Bouzerda, was suspended from office. Aged 55, Idrissi was until his appointment editor of the weekly 'Morocco Hebdo International'. In 2000, he founded the newspaper 'Today Morocco', a French-language daily he still heads.
In 2008, he was elected president of the Moroccan Federation of Newspaper Publishers (FMEJ).
