African Charter on public service - Mauritius Thursday signed the African Charter on the values and principles of public service and administration of the African Union (AU), becoming the 14th signatory.
The charter, which aims to harmonize policies and procedures relating to public service and public administration among the member states in a bid to promote regional and continental integration, was adopted 31 January 2011 by the Conference of Heads of State and Government of the AU.
Other signatories so far are: Burundi, Congo, Gambia, Guinea, Ghana, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Sahara Democratic Arab Republic, Senegal, Togo and Zambia.
