Bamako, Mali - The Foundation Partage in Mali has raised over 30 million F CFA (US$60,514) for the construction of a school in Haiti, which is still struggling to recover from the effects of the massive earthquake that hit the country in 2010. The foundation is headed by Mrs. Adama Bah Konare, wife of former Malian president Alpha Oumar Konare.

The former First Lady told journalists here Monday that only 19.6 million F CFA (US$39,486) is needed to make up the US$100,000 needed to build a primary school in Port-au-Prince.

The cost of equipping the schools is not included in the total sum.

To coordinate the project, the foundation has established an ad hoc committee, called Foundation Partage Haiti.
