Gold-producing company-Mali - Mali's gold-producing company, Wassoulou l’Or, is expected to produce its first ingot by 22 September, PANA learnt here Monday. An ingot is a material, usually metal, that is cast into a shape suitable for further processing. Entirely controlled by Malian private interests, Wassoulou L’Or has an operating license which covers an area of 100 square kilometres and could allow the development of geological resources estimated at 82 tons of gold over 2% of the permit area.
The factory, under construction, has a production capacity of 10,000 tonnes of ore per day for a period of eight years.
The project investment amounts to over 52 billion FCFA.
