Tripoli, Libya - UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon arrived Wednesday in Tripoli on a short, unscheduled visit to Libya, official sources said here.

Ban will have talks with officials of the Libyan National Transitional Council (NTC) on the transitional process in the country.

The UN Security Council 16 September adopted a resolution creating a UN political mission to support Libya.

Presided over by Ian Martin of Britain, the mission is to help the country reconstruct its infrastructures.
