Tripoli, Libya - With the recent deadly clashes in Libya, tribes and regions in Zaouia and Ouarshavana were Wednesday reconciled in Tripoli, the Libyan capital, during a meeting of their leaders.
Deadly armed clashes took place between the revolutionaries of the city of Zaouia and those in the region of Ouarshavana, the largest tribe that settled around Tripoli, following rumours that Seif Ul-Islam Kadhafi and some battalions of the old regime were present in Ouarshavana.
Speaking at the meeting, the vice president of the National Transitional Council (NTC), Abdelhaidh Ghoga, welcomed the reconciliation between the two tribes, praising the efforts of community leaders and dignitaries of the two regions for addressing the issue.
Ghoga said all the contentious issues had been resolved.
Libyan Prime Minister Al-Abderahim Kib, the Mufti of Libya, Sheikh Sadok Gharyan and several dignitaries and revolutionaries across the country attended the reconciliation meeting.
