Brussels, Belgium - Belgium is to release 9 million euro to help in the reconstruction of Libya, the Belgian Prime minister, Yves Leterme, said on Thursday in Brussels.
Speaking before leaving for Paris where he attended the international conference on Libya, the Belgian PM said 6 million euro would help to finance the democratic rebuilding of the country, 3 million euro would be devoted to the transition, as 250,000 euro would be given to civil society organizations.
In another development, Brussels is to release 100 million euro of frozen Libyan assets.
