Lusaka, Zambia - Two Zambian Air Force (ZAF) pilots were killed after the aircraft they were flying crashed in the middle of Bwiketo village, north of Zambia’s tourist capital city of Livingstone, Wednesday.
Southern Province Police Commissioner Charity Katanga said police and fire fighters rushed to the scene after receiving information of the crash involving a ZAF plane with registration number FA 528, the independent Post newspaper reported Thursday.
'We saw that there was a ZAF SAB aircraft that has been involved in a plane crash… and this happened around the village called Bakabanje, Bwiketo area. Two ZAF officers have crashed to death but we will not reveal the particulars of the deceased until the next of kin is informed,' Katanga said.
No one was hurt on the ground.
