The European Union supports Benin Judiciary reforms with 8m Euros

Benin Judiciary reforms - The European Union (EU) will release 8 million Euros to Benin to enable the West African nation further reform its judiciary, PANA learnt here Tuesday from official sources.

The money will help in financing a project called 'support project to justice' which objective is to cover the implementation process of the reforms and the National Development Programme of the Justice Sector in the next five years.

PANA recalls that in Benin, the EU is strongly involved in supporting the reform and modernization project of the Justice sector.

These include the Integrated Reinforcement Programme of Legal and Judicial Systems (IRPLJS), worth 12 million Euros and concluded in 2010, and the Support Programme to the Justice Reforms (SPJR), costing 3 billion francs CFA.
