Baboucarr Ceesay released - Detained Gambian journalist Baboucarr Ceesay has been released from custody without being charged with any crime, PANA confirmed from here Tuesday.
According to sources in Banjul, the Gambian capital, Ceesay was released on Monday, after spending three days in detention at the headquarters of the country's National Intelligence Agency (NIA).
The NIA personnel reportedly told the journalist before his release that his case was still under investigation.
This is the second time that Ceesay has been arrested and detained by the Gambian authorities.
He was first arrested and detained last September, along with another journalist, Abubacarr Saidykhan, after attempting to stage a peaceful demonstration over the execution of nine prisoners in The Gambia.
